1872, Samuel was admitted to an asylum in Melton, Suffolk County, England on February 2, 1872.
1881, Samuel is not with Frances on this census. Frances is with her sisters, Louisa and Caroline Riches, in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk County. He is still in the asylum/hospital. Later named St. Audrey' Hospital.
1890, Samuel died on February 21, 1890. He had lived in Chediston but died in Sub-district of Woodbridge and Wilford in the County of Suffolk, apparently in a county asylum at Melton, later known as St. Audry's Hospital. His age at death on the gravestone is 75, and on his death certificate is 74.
Samuel Nockolds is buried at Buckenham, St. Nicholas Church Cemetery in Norfolk County, England.
