Staff correspondent for The New York Evening Post and wrote columns for The New York Advocate, The Michigan Advocate, the Detroit Free Press and The Wolverine Citizen of Flint.
Appointed by Gov. Crapo as a trustee of the Michigan School for the Deaf and served as a physician for the institution for 6 years.
