from Pear Meurer Martini, daughter of Joseph Frank Meurer, Jan 1978:
My father, Joe Meurer, was very active in the Windthorst community, establishing the dairy business, which helped to build up the town of Windthorst, and one is still there and is a thriving business today. The highway from Windthorst to Wichita Falls was one of his vital concerns and thru his influence helped the community greatly. He was also active in church and the school there.
