Services for Charlie Sunrise, 77, of Apache, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Becker Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Sunrise died at 8:05 p.m. Monday in PHS Indian Hospital.

Burial will be in Post Oak Mission Cemetery in Indiahoma.

He was born in Texas in 1889, and lived most of his life in Cache until 1926 when he moved to Apache.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Lorentino, South Salem, Ore.; two sons, Morris Tabby Yetchy, Apache; and Richard Sunrise, also of Apache; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Clara Archilla, Apache; a step-son, Emmett Williams, Apache; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a number of step-grandchildren."

The children named in his obituary ~
Dorothy Sunrise Lorentino #50096607 (dau of Esther #50071457)
Morris Tabbyyetchy #50071470 (son of Esther #50071457)
Morris was a Comanche Code Talker (see web page link: http://www.comanchelanguage.org/Comanche%20Code%20Talkers.htm)

Richard Sunrise #50071313 (son of Beatrice, Charles' 2nd wife, I cannot find a burial listing for her)

His first marriage to Esther Parker (her name recorded as Esta Parker, his as Charles Sunrise) was Oct 18, 1908 at Deyo Indian Mission, ceremony performed by Rev. Deyo, both Esther and Charles were residents of Cache.

His second marriage to Beatrice Helen Tseeltsisah (her name recorded as Helen Williams; his as Chas. Sunrise) was April 4, 1923 at Lawton. Beatrice 1st married on August 25, 1908 at Newkirk, Kay co, Oklahoma to David Williams. I've not been able to find a burial listing for Beatrice.

In Indian census records his name appears as "William Tabbyyetchy (Charlie Sunrise)." On both of his married records it is Charles Sunrise. In the 1910 and 1920 federal census he is William Tabbyyetchy; in the 1930 and 1940 census he is Charles Sunrise.

And then…. Esther Parker Tabbyyetchy #50071457. I'm assuming that June 19, 1919 is her death date (you have it has her BD). I haven't been able to pin down a birthyear it varies widely from record to record, but the earliest records when she is a child (usually the most accurate) are 1886 or 1887. She was older than Charles so when they married her birthdate started showing up as later... first as 1889 and then eventually it had slipped all the way over to 1894 (a date I think unreliable since they married in 1908 and she would have been 14 years old if born in 1894). I'll leave it up to you if you want to include a birthyear for Esther. She is last counted in the June 30, 1918 Indian census roll; not counted in the 1919 record - just Charles and the kids - which matches the date on her headstone.
