Uriah was the daughter of Uriah T. Lockett 1802-1848 and Aurelia L. Thweatt Lockett 1815-1856, both from Warren County, Georgia and both died in Culloden, Monroe County, Georgia. Their actual memorials have not yet been located.

Uriah's paternal grandfather (her father's father) was Pvt. Solomon Lockett 1760-1836, who served in the American Revolutionary War. Uriah's paternal grandmother, was Martha "Patsy" Alford 1770-1848. Solomon was born in Buckingham County, Virginia and died in Warren County, Georgia. Patsy was born in North Carolina and died in Monroe County, Georgia.

Uriah's maternal grandparents are not known as of this entry.

Uriah married Capt. John Thomas Ware 1844-1909, on April 14, 1864 in South Carolina. They had three sons together.
