DECATUR DAILY January 18, 1995

Funeral for Donald Otto Aldridge, 79, of Decatur will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Austinville United Methodist Church with the Rev. William H. Smith and the Rev. Audie Hodges officiating and Brown Service Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Aldridge died Tuesday at Decatur General Hospital. he was born July 14, 1915 in Toledo, Ohio, to Percy and Fern Aldridge.

He worked for Electric Auto-Lite in Toledo and transferred to Prestolite Electric Inc. in Decatur in 1962 as night superintendent and later as production manager. He retired in 1980 after 46 years of service. He was a member of Austinville United Methodist Church and he taught the Wesley fellowship class for 25 years. He was a member of the church's administrative board and a volunteer with Committee on Church Cooperation. He was also a member, past president and chaplain of the Wheeler Basin Branch of the Good Sams Camping Club.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Aldridge; one son, Richard E. Aldridge of Decatur; two daughters, Darrilyn Goulet of Oregon, Ohio and Kathleen Miller of Sauk Village, Ill; one brother, Raymond Aldridge of Oregon; two sisters, Vivian Evert of Toledo and Winona Duenki of Ellenton, Fla; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Maurice Riddle, James Slaten, Herman Woodall, Don Suggs, Raymond Hamilton and Greg Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
