Services for Thomas Bagby were held in his home and officiated by Rev. J.R. Balch, pastor of the Baptist church on Monday. His remains were sent back to the old home in Norris City, Illinois. The body was accompanied by the oldest son, W.F. Bagby of Stamford who was met by the two daughters - Mrs. John Cravens and Mrs. Bert Arnold; four brothers; two sisters. Mr. Bagby was laid to rest in the Oddfellows Cemetery. Mr. Bagby's boyhood and young manhood days were spent in Norris City. In 1891, he married Miss Janie Watson. To this union, five children were born - Fred, Lela Bret, Leafy, and Esper. The mother died in 1900 leaving a three-month-old baby in the care of its father. After the death of his wife, Mr. Bagby worked on the railroad and continued in that occupation until 1937. He retired on a pension. He worked for the B. & O., the Big Four in Illinois, the Frisco, the Iron Mountain, and the Cotton Belt in Missouri. He came to Seymour, Texas in 1916 and went to work for the Fort Worth & Denver, putting in 21 years of service. He was a well experience railroad man which made it difficult for him to retire. On 1 January 1923, he married MIss Catherine Qullin. To this union, Opal Christine Bagby was born.
