Aloysius was born either Nov. 4, 1892 or Dec 4, 1892. Godparents were C. Mathis and Bertha Wogenstahl. Bertha was the wife of Alois Wogenstahl, who ran a saloon on 6th Street near the Millcreek. Alois had died circa 1881. Bertha was also Aloysius' aunt, she was the sister of Célestine Mathis Wogenstahl. C. Mathis was possibly Clemens Mathis. He was a brother of Célestine. The record is No. 74 for 1892 in the St. John parish register. Aloysius Wogenstahl, US Army Serial Number 3,243,448 was inducted at Covington, Kentucky August 7, 1918. He served with Company F, 68th Infantry until discharge. He attained the rank of Private 1st Class December 12, 1918. He was not wounded, nor did he serve overseas. He was honorably discharged February 8, 1919. On the back of a photo of Aloysius is marked "Daddy". Marriage Bond to Loretta Uphaus is in Book 173, page 92. Aloysius worked at Good Will Foundry Co. in Cincinnati. He worked there for 26 years (possibly from 1908 to 1934), then worked as a molder for 18 years at Klaene Foundry Co., Covington, Kentucky (possibly from 1934 to 1952). He was a member of the International Molders and Foundry Workers Union, Local No. 4. He was also a member of the Covington Eagles (Aerie No 329).
