Stephen Paul Johnson Stephen Paul Johnson "Steve" age 63, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010 at his Florida home in the presence of his wife and friends. A Plainfield resident from 1981 until 2005 when he retired to his home in Florida. Graduated from Robinson HS and Joliet Jr. College. Steve served our country through his participation in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1977. He retired from Common Wealth Edison after 25 years of service. Steve was a former volunteer baseball coach, who loved the sport and working with kids. He loved the Dodgers, boating, golfing and spending quality time with his grandchildren. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Susan (Klingberg) Johnson; three children, Kelley (Eric) Gallt of Plainfield, Scott (Toni) Johnson of Gardner, and Kari Johnson (Frank Wascher) of Minooka; grandchildren, Brittney Gallt, Colton Gallt, Luc Surges, Parker Gallt, Wyatt Gallt, Drew Johnson, Jack Ervin, and Ty Johnson; mother, Fern Dennis of Robinson; brothers, Emery (Cecilia) Johnson of West York and Greg (Nancy) Johnson of Robinson; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Isaac Johnson, and his father and mother-in-law, Edward and Rosemary Klingberg. Cremation rights were accorded. Memorial services will take place on March 23, 2010 at the Tezak Home to Celebrate Life (1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet) as follows: Visitation 3:00-6:00pm, Memorial Service 6:00-7:00pm. Those services will follow cemetery services taking place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 1:10pm on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Marion County Hospice for their compassionate and loving care of Stephen.
