Funeral services will be held today (Tuesday) for Lawrence F. "Babe" Mansholt, 87, of near Hookdale, who died March 14 at 6:38 p.m. at Utlaut Memorial Hospital.
Rev. Ray Fuller will officiate the services, which will be held at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ at Hookdale. Interment will be in Mt. Auburn cemetery.
The Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Born Muly 28, 1909 in Bond county, Mr. Mansholt was the son of Frank and Mary W. (Ennen) Mansholt. He married Delores C. Greimann, September 13, 1931 in Hookdale. She preceded him in death February 27, 1989.
He is survived by daughters, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Eyman of rural Greenville, Mrs. Leo (Hoann) Linton of Hookdale and Connie Mansholt of Staunton; sister, Mrs. Alex (Marie) Johnson of rural Carlyle; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Clarence G. and Wilford Mansholt in infancy and one great grandchild.
Mr. Mansholt was a grain and dairy farmer, served on the school board for many years and served on the church council of St. Peters United Church of Christ at Hookdale, where he was a member.
Memorials may be made to St. Peters United Church of Christ or to the Bond County Health Department-Home Health Nurses.
