On December 30, 1756 he married Mary Hayward, the daughter of Nathaniel and Martha (Wood) Hayward. She was born on August 9, 1741 in Mansfield, Conn.

This revised birth year of 1735 also works with his father, Timothy Allen's will, which says that Ebenezer was not yet 21 years old when Timothy Allen died in 1855. This means that Ebenezer had to have been born after 1734.
There is record of an Ebenezer Allen baptized in 1736, son of Timothy Allen, by Rev. Ebenezer Devotion in Scotland, Windham Co., CT. (year not shown on the entry, but other baptisms on the same page (Vol. 2, page 15) are for 1736.
