On Tuesday, September 3, 1946, Dr. Joseph Lawn Thompson, beloved husband of Anna Waters Thompson of 1851 Columbia Rd., NW.
Remains resting at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase funeral home of Wm. Reuben Pumphrey. Funeral services and interment private, Thursday, September 5.

Dr. J. Lawn Thompson Final Rites Are Held
Funeral services for Dr. J. Lawn Thompson, Sr., 72, Washington physician who died Tuesday at his home, 1851 Columbia road N.W., were held this morning. Burial was in Monocracy Cemetery, Md.
Dr. Thompson was born in Washington, the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Benedict Thompson. His father was a leading physician here.
Dr. Thompson was for 15 years medical director of Catholic University and also served as professor of medicine at George Washington medical school and as chief of medical service at Providence Hospital.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna Waters Thompson; two sons, Dr. J. Lawn Thompson, Jr. and Dr. Charles W. Thompson, both of Washington; a daughter, Mrs. Howard Coppenbarger, Cleveland Ohio; a sister, Miss Noma Thompson, Washington, and a half-brother, Edward Anderson, Los Angeles."
