Last Rites Held For Amos L. Wall

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 13 for Amos L. Wall of McLean at the Church of Christ in Hedley with M.F. Manchester officiating and assisted by Bro. C.R. LeMond, Hedley.

Mr. Wall's live was ended last Saturday when his gun was accidentally discharged as he was getting out of his car about five miles east of McLean.

Mr. Wall was a former resident of Hedley where he had lived for several years before moving to McLean about 11 months ago.

He is survived by his wife, a son Donald of McLean, three daughters, Lou Ann of McLean, Ione of Clarendon and Mrs. Earl Tollett of Hedley. A brother Lenard Wall of Quail; three sisters, Mrs. Albert Sanders, Lubbock; Mrs. Jewel Myers and Mrs. Charley Grooms of Clarendon.

Pallbearers were S.C. Sargent, Ray Daughtry, Hobert Moffitt, Theo Johnson, Winfield Mosley, Barney Clifton, W.I. Woods and Short Saunders.

Burial was at Hedley with Womack Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.

Wheeler County Man Victim Of Accident

Special to The NEWS.
SHAMROCK, Dec. 12 - Amos L. D. Wall, 50, Wheeler county farmer residing 15 miles west of Shamrock, and former Hedley resident, accidentally shot and killed himself at 9 a.m. Saturday near the Jones Service station, five miles east of McLean.

Wall had driven his car off the pavement and presumably was getting out of the vehicle when his shotgun discharged, the charge going through his head.

T.E. Burkhalter, justice of the peace, returned a verdict of accidental death. The body was taken to McLean by Womack Funeral home.
