Born in NYC in 1901, son of Joseph Sonsini and Dina Uven Sonsini (Sonsin). Graduated from Stuyvesant High School and Webb Institute (1926). Married Jessie Pittenger at her parents' home at 14 Madison Avenue in Maplewood, NJ on February 22, 1936. Two sons - Joseph Robert (1941-42) and William James (1945- ). Worked for Ingersoll Rand from 1926 - 1966, living in Asia (pre WW II), San Mateo, CA (1942 - 55), and Westfield, NJ. Widowed in 1962. Married Annette Kreps (1907-96) in 1963. Moved to Roswell, GA in 1989 and Lawrenceville in 1991.
