William Grant Dies at hospital at age of 61 years
William Grant, 61 years old, member of an old and well known Pascagoula family, died Saturday at the Jackson County hospital where he had been ill for the last month.
Mr. Grant was the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Grant and his father was also a native of Pascagoula. He was employed at the government reservation for many years. Mr. Grant was a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic church. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 5 p.m. at the Fails Funeral Home in Pascagoula by the Rev. P. J. Carey and interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were his nephews, Kell, Owen, and Richard Canty, Morris Crane, and Stephen and Richard Grant.
He is survived by his widow Mrs. Margie McGrady Grant of Birmingham, a daughter, the former Miss Loretta Grant who is now married and resides in New Jersey; three sisters, Mrs. Oliver Krebs, Mrs. M.E. Crane and Mrs. W.I. Canty; three brothers; Forest, Harold and Julius Grant, all of Pascagoula; and a number of nieces and nephews.
