Leo DeVoy Beck went to heaven, December 11, 2003 in time to celebrate his beloved Jesus' birthday. Leo was born in Comanche, Oklahoma to Harvey and Cleo Beck, March 2, 1934. He moved to Oklahoma City at a young age and graduated from Capitol Hill High School. He retired after a successful career in the military with 4 years in the Air force, 8 years in the Air National Guard and 26 years in the Army National Guard. He could have been a poster boy for "Military Man." He had a small but richly loved family. He married the love of his life, Carole in 1967. The second love of his life was his best friend and son Jeff, whom he worshipped from the beginning and his loving wife, Candy. He stayed busy after his retirement by helping his son at Beck's Automotive, where he made lots of friends, traveled with Carole, went fishing with his best buddy, Norman, watched and fed a wild bunny (Fluffy), squirrels and numerous kinds of birds on his patio. The thing he enjoyed the most was singing in a Gospel Trio, "Set Free" with Carole and Norman. Through the Trio he served in many capacities, dinners for the homeless, chapel services at Grace Rescue Mission, service at Wellington Retirement Center, Oklahoma Christian Home, served dinner to homeless on Thanksgiving and sang in a number of other areas. He touched the lives of co-workers, neighbors, friends and church family in such a mighty way. We know that God, his mom and dad will enjoy having him in Heaven, but the world will never be the same without him. Leo is survived by his wife, Carole; his son, Jeff; daughter in law, Candy; brother and sister in law, Ray and Judy Love; sister and brother in law, Debby and Mike Wright; mother in law, Phyllis Love and a number of great nephews and nieces and cousins. Leo was preceded in death by his parents.
