Bowman Dorthy Sevella

Dorthy Sevella Bowman, 68 of South Louisville died Thursday at Jewish Hospital. She was the former Dorothy Moppin, a native of Henry County and a member of the Pentecostal Church. Survivors; her husband Samuel A. Bowman; 11 daughters, Myrtle Brown, Emily Hancock, Dorthy Swofford, Frances Spiva, Joan Hancock, Brenda Murphy, Darlene Easton, Edna Murphy, Tina Rich, Lorreta Sauer, and Cathy Berry; four sons Elwood Fawbush of Crestwood, Chester Fawbush, Samuel Jr. and John Bowman; four sisters, Ida Downey, Clara Adcock, Bessie Adcock and Maude Hamlet: 62 granschildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Funeral; 10 a.m. Monday, Arch L. Heady, Cralle & Neurath Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

She was married to Chester Devore Fawbush and had six children. He passed away and as timed passed she married Samuel A. Bowman and gave birth to ten more children.


Susie was
a devoted wife-mother-grandmother-sister-aunt-and a friend to many.
She had many roles in her life and she filled them all well. She is the Mother of 15 children 11 girls and 4 boys. She has over 60 grandchildren and over 20 great-grand-children.

She is the daughter of the late Rufus Moppin and Rachel Downey Moppin. She is at rest with her loving husband Samuel Anthony Bowman. She is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
