Born in Freeport of Feb. 18, 1894, he was the son of William G. and Myrle (Hill) Shoop. He was a member of the Freeport United Presbyterian Church, Freeport Free and Accepted Mason, Pittsburgh Consistory and the Syria Temple of Pittsburgh. He is the retired owner of the J.H. Shoop and Son's Men's Clothing Store of Freeport.
He is survived by his wife Ruth (Becker), one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Ann) Mall, Los Altos, Calif., two sons John E. of Buffalo Township and Thomas V. of Dallas, Pa., two brothers Robert of Blairsville and Willis of Pittsburgh and four grandchildren.
Burial will be private in the Freeport Cemetery.
