Inez Douthitt, 93, Barnesville, Ga., formerly of Augusta, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2006.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. Those attending should use the 12th Street entrance.
Mrs. Douthitt was born in Barry County, Mo., on March 9, 1913, the daughter of John Edward and Orleana Ray (Stever) Chappell. Inez was a native of Mano, Mo., and had lived in Augusta before moving to Barnesville, Ga. several years ago. She was a homemaker and had been a member of First Baptist Church in Augusta.
She is survived by: a daughter, Janet Powell and her husband, Arthur of Barnesville, Ga.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Franklin Douthitt; son, Glen Douthitt; six brothers and two sisters.
Headley Funeral Chapel of Augusta is in charge of the arrangements.
