THE HENRY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Fri., July 21, 1922, p. 1, col. 4 [edited]. Bluefield Telegraph. The many friends of Charles Marshall will learn with regret and sorrow of his death which occurred at Mt. Regis Sanitarium, Salem, Va., on Saturday morning following an illness since April. He had been a resident of Bluefield for more than six years and was formerly connected with the Flat Top National Bank. At the outbreak of the world war, Mr. Marshall was sent to Camp Lee, Va., and for a short time was connected with the 80th division and was later transferred to the famous Rainbow Division and was on the firing line when the armistice was signed. During his residence in Bluefield, he became a member of quite a number of organizations. The remains were taken yesterday to Spencer, Va., his old home near Martinsville, where interment will be made today in the family plot. The services will be conducted by the Martinsville Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his father, S. W. Marshall, of Spencer, and three bothers, J. E. Marshall of Dallas, Texas, and R. M. Marshall of Suffolk, Va. (only two listed in the article). Mr. Marshall was aged 32 years and during his residence in this city made his home with his aunt, Mrs. M. H. Pedigo, of Oakhurst Avenue. Among the Bluefield people who will attend the funeral services are his aunt, Mrs. Pedigo, Frank T. Akers and W. S. Phelps of Phelps Furniture Company and a delegation from the Bluefield Masonic Lodges. [Ref. Paul Martin: AN ALPHABETICAL INDEX TO . . .
