Son of John (b. Dec. 1805 Virginia) & Nancy Luark; siblings - Serepta(?), Elijah, Lydia, Nancy Ann, Edward R., Sarilda, Elizabeth and Christopher. John Luark family settled in Wabash County, Jan. 3, 1844.

1850: Residing w parents, Noble Twsp, Wabash County, Indiana. Single. Father's occupation: Innkeeper.

Enlisted as a Private on 25 July 1861 at the age of 19 in Company F, 34th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 26 Aug 1861. Transferred out of Company F, 34th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 20 Feb 1865. Transferred into Company F, 36th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 20 Feb 1865. Mustered Out Company F, 36th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 27 Jul 1865 at Wheeling, WV.

William P. Luark, a son of John Luark of this county, was living in Ohio at the beginning of the war, and enlisted as a member of the One Hundred and First Regiment Ohio Volunteers. After the expiration of his term of service, he returned to this county, and died in Wabash on the 8th of August, 1870.

Originally buried in Hanna Cemetery; re-interred in Falls Cemetery in 1906.
