Fred A. McNabb, 60, of Oakland, formerly of Marienville, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Aspinwall VA Hospital. He was born Nov. 18, 1949, in Kittanning, a son of the late Edward and Amy (Winn) McNabb. Fred was a veteran of the Army where he served in Vietnam. He was a former factory worker. Fred was a member of Salem Baptist Church, the American Legion in Kittanning and the VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking. He is survived by his daughter, Mindy Hockenberry, of Templeton; son, Fred A. Marrapode, of Kittanning; brothers, Harvey McNabb (Judy), of Worthington, Edward McNabb, of Albion, and Charles McNabb (Lou), of McGrann; sisters, Betty Miller, of Erie, Linda Taylor (Les), of Tionesta, June Wygant (Eric), of Erie, Ernie Elsesser (Joan), of Ford City, and Amy Elsesser, of Walk Chalk; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, with the Rev. Steven Wilson.
