Prominent Man Dies After Long Illness At Home

W.B. McCulloch, aged 68 years, died last night at 7:50 o'clock at his residence in the Fairview section, following a long illness.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Emerson McCulloch of Decatur, and Dr. W.L. McCulloch, of Huntsville; three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Scruggs of Montgomery; Mrs. Vernon Webster of Decatur; Mrs. Andrew McElroy of Birmingham; one brother, J.B. McCulloch of Hollis, Okla; four sisters, Mrs. Carrie Grant of Texas; Mrs. Will Cottengim of Texas; Mrs. J.C. Walker of Hartselle and Mrs. Fannie Wiley of Trinity.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Central Methodist Church at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, with the Masonic order in charge of the services at the grave, Priest directing.

Mr. McCulloch long had been a prominent resident of this city. He came to Decatur 25 years ago and has been prominent in city and county politics for a number of years. He was a former city councilman and former member of the county board of revenue.

He was an active member of the Methodist church, with which he became identified when but 12 years of age and had been a steward in the Central Methodist Church for many years. His death created widespread sorrow here today.

Funeral Held For Beloved Resident

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Central Methodist Church for W.B. McCulloch, prominent citizen who died Friday night at his residence in Fairview, following a long illness.

Services were conducted by Rev. S.O. Kimbrough, pastor of the Central Methodist Church, of which the deceased had been an active member, with the Masonic lodge in charges of services at the grave.

The large concourse of people attending the services indicated the esteem in which Mr. McCulloch was held by the community in which he had lived for many years.
