Grethel Lex "G.L. Bub" Lambird, 87, of Noble, died at 8:41 a.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Burgin Manor in Olney.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, at Stasi-Grove Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Jimmy Thomas officiating.

Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in Wakefield.

Mr. Lambird was born on March 9, 1917 in Wakefield, the son of Vance and Luna(Lambird) Pottorff.

He was a member of Electricians Local 702 and worked in the telecommunications field. His most recent employer was Henkel and McCoy until his retirement in 1982. He was a World War II army veteran having served in the 87th Cavalry from June 1941 to October 1945. He was Baptist by faith.

Mr. Lambird is survived by a son George Lambird and his wife, Lorrena of Olney; a daughter, Charlene Sager and her husband Mike, of Chandler, Texas; five grandchildren, Jay Sager, of Dallas, Texas, Steven Sager of Austin, Texas and James Gosnell, Kevin Gosnell and Tony Gosnell, all of Olney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southeastern.
