On March 12, 2010, Marian Davis Fletcher Harrison embarked on her next great adventure. She resided at 910 South Donner Way (2985 East) in the Foothill neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah at the time of her death.

Marian was born December 8, 1923 to Joseph and Rhea Freeze Davis. She entered the world full of energy and enthusiasm, attributes she carried throughout her life.

Marian attended East High School and the University of Utah affiliating with Chi Omega Sorority and graduating with a degree in speech and drama. Love of the theatre began early with high school plays and at the U, where her college life centered around the theatre department.

Later Marian appeared in motion pictures for BYU and several plays at Pioneer Memorial Theatre. For four years, Marian talked with puppets, read stories, and sang songs as Miss Merrytime on the ground-breaking KUED series, "Number 7 Sunny Street". She also starred in a Walt Disney movie, "The Owl That Didn't Give a Hoot". Marian's voice is still recognized on telephone intercepts reminding us that the call we have made "cannot be completed as dialed".

In 1947, Marian married Raymond S. Fletcher. They had two daughters, Kristina and Kathleen. Although Marian and Ray divorced years later, they remained good friends.

Marian's community involvement included the Pioneer Theatre Guild, the Grand Theatre, the Polio Foundation, United Cerebral Palsy, and the Utah Mental Health board. Marian worked in PR for Gold Strike Stamps, Weinstock's, the Broadway, and on independent projects, including finding talent and locations for TV commercials.

In 1984, Marian married Richard D. Harrison, the love of her life from her high school and college years. Together they traveled the world, celebrating life with friends and family. Throughout her life, Marian's passion for travel was unwavering. Always ready for the next adventure, her generosity enabled her entire family to also travel extensively together.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dick. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Smoot (Wendell) and family; daughters Kristina Burton (Ken) and Kathleen Weiler (Tim); grandchildren Katie Burton Nelson (Jake), Andrew Burton (Meg), and Jeff Weiler; and great-grandchildren Kennedy and Macy Nelson. She is also survived by her former husband and friend, Ray Fletcher.

Funeral Services will be held at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services.
