DUDLEY -- At her residence in the village of Buffalo, on Thursday May 11th, 18-- [not clear], Mrs. Mary Dudley, widow of the late Asa W. Dudley, at the ripe age of 78 years.
Deceased was a native of Vermont and was married to Asa W. Dudley January 1st, 1824. They moved to Buffalo, Minn., in the spring of 1859, and were among the first members of the Baptist church in that place. They celebrated their golden wedding January 1st, 1874. The result of their union is a family of eight children, several grandchildren and great grand children. Their eldest son lost his life in the late civil war. The remaining seven children are living, six of them in Minnesota and one in Vermont. Mrs. Dudley usually enjoyed good health until some three months since, when a gradual yielding of her physical powers was perceptible to her friends. She did not suffer the harrowing pangs of disease, but gradually passed away without a murmur. Her last days were spent in peaceful resignation surrounded by members of her family. Rev. Blowers conducted the funeral services at the residence, and her remains were followed to the cemetery by a large concourse of sorrowing friends.
