Charles was a teacher by profession. Removed to Philadelphia in 1820 where during various periods he held many positions of honor and trust, under both state and city governments. He was also a member of various scientific and literary societies. In 1863 he wrote his Trego history and in 1873 a second account. He married Martha Smith in 1817, one child is known for this couple; Frederic Augustus Trego b. 1818 d. 1881 in Bucks County, Pa.
