Douglas DeWayne Shields, 42, Miller, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at his home after a short illness.
He was born March 31, 1967, in Carthage to John Mansfield and Glenda Root (Duncan) Shields. He graduated from Miller High School and a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include one daughter, Brittany Shields, Greenfield; his mother, Glenda Root Shields, Miller; his father, John M. Shields, Squire; and two brothers, Johnny Shields and Mark Shields, Miller.
Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at the Stone Bible Church, Rescue. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at the Stone Bible Church, with Minister Rueben Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery, Rescue, under direction of Knell Mortuary, Carthage.
