Rita Strickland (nee' Trepagnier), a longtime resident of Galveston, died June 28, 2009. Born in New Orleans, LA on May 25, 1921, Rita was a pioneering small business woman and local fashion model. She was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a generous civic volunteer. Rita has gone to live with Jesus and share eternal life with her parents, grandmother and brother, Harold Trepagnier (Texas City) who are waiting to greet her.



She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Jennie Strickland (Northfield, MN), grandsons, Andrew ( Amanda) Strickland and Rev. Christian (Cynthia) Strickland, and three great-grand children, Benjamin, Noah and Micah (Minnesota), a sister, Mrs. Helen Chuoke, brother-in-law, Mr. Mitchell Chuoke, and sister-in-law, Mrs Francis Trepagnier and numerous nieces and nephews.
