Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Virginia; son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Ron and Elaine Sims of Fullerton; four sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve DeLancey and Ernie and Barb Foland, all of Fullerton, Tom DeLancey of Madison and Mike DeLancey of Columbus; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pat DeLancey of Lincoln and Alice and Douglas Colby of Fullerton; 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Jan DeLancey of Ashland; and a sister, Betty DeLancey of Geneva.
Additional survivors include one aunt, Juanita Elznic of Fullerton.
He graduated in 1945 from the Fullerton Public Schools. He served in the Army from June 1, 1946 through June 28, 1947. On July 11, 1947, he married Wanda Lee Sinsel in Fullerton. She died on Oct. 4, 1959. On Jan. 20, 1965, he married Virginia Foland in Central City.
He worked as a meat cutter for over 40 years in local grocery stores and later worked for the local locker plant and the Nance County Weed Department. He also served as custodian of the Methodist Church.
He was an original member of the Fullerton Booster Club and the local SHARE program. He served on various committees of the Methodist Church, was an active member of the American Legion Fred Philbrick Post 151, volunteered his services with bingo, and served on the Fullerton Cemetery Board. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending school and sporting activities for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening and volunteering his time in the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ken DeLancey, a daughter, Janet Sims, two brothers, Myrle and Gene DeLancey, and two sisters, Evelyn Whitlake and Dorothy Watson.
