Mrs. Margaret Virginia Faw Young age 93, of Mouth of Wilson, VA died on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Margate Health & Rehab Center.

Mrs. Young was born in Ashe County on February 3, 1919 to the late Robert Avery and Jean Turner Faw. Including her parents, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Bassett Young, three sisters, Laura Mae Shatley, Mary Ann Roland, Georgia Goss, five brothers, Jake Faw, Richard Faw, Frank Faw, Robert Faw and Clifford Faw.

Mrs. Young was a member of Greenwood Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning and she enjoyed traveling. She and her husband owned the stockyard in West Jefferson and the stockyard in Jefferson. Family was the most important thing in her life.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Peter Parish and Rev. Wayne Osborne. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. Young is survived by: Son, Jimmie Young and wife Linda of Grassy Creek, two grandchildren, Tara Young Miller and husband Chris of West Jefferson, Todd Young and wife Megan of Grassy Creek, one great-granddaughter, Taylon Miller of West Jefferson; two sisters, Eva Kennedy and Bobbie Hines both of Hillsborough, NC; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The family respectfully request no flowers or food please, memorials may be made to the New River Fire Department, 6067 NC Highway 16 N. Crumpler, NC 28617 or to the Helton Ambulance Service, c/o Harry Sullivan, 114 Old Helton School Road, Lansing, NC 28643.

The family will be meeting at the home of Jimmie and Linda Young, 212 Bassett Young Rd. in Grassy Creek.
