The son of the late John and Paula Brennan Handford, he was born March 26, 1908, in Bay Ridge.
He was a member and Elder of Community Church of Wurtsboro; charter member and past president of Wurtsboro Fire Company; and member of the school board in the Wurtsboro School District.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Lybolt Handford, at home; two sons, Edward Handford and James Handford, both of Wurtsboro; two daughters, Alverta Champagne and Marie Bryan, both of Wurtsboro; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one niece; and two great-nieces.
He was predeceased by one brother, Charles Handford.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 173 Sullivan St., Wurtsboro.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Church of Wurtsboro. The Rev. Neva Evenhouse will officiate.
Burial will be in Sylvan Cemetery, Wurtsboro.
