Mary "Sue" Browning Lynn
passed away at her home in DeMossville, Ky., on Wednes-day, September 3, 2003. She had been diagnosed with cancer about eight years ago.She gave a gallant fight until finally she was called to Heaven. She was 62 years of age.
Sue was born January 15, 1941, in Pendleton County, at the home of Johnny and Edna Woods, her grandparents. Her father was Howard Wilson Browning and her mother was Mary Gertrude Woods Brown-ing. Both are deceased.
Sue was a retired executive secretary of Proctor and Gam-ble. She has served the company for 38 years.
Sue was an active member of the Pendleton County Historical Society. She headed the committee to preserve the old marriage records at the courthouse in Pendleton County and helped with the refiling and organizing the Barton Papers which were damaged in the 1997 flood. She had also served on other society committees, and a former member of the Pendleton County Women's Democratic Commit-tee.
She enjoyed searching for her family roots. Although her chosen profession was in an office she was a country girl at heart. She loved the outdoors and her dogs. She was a crusader for what she believed to be right and just. Her since of humor and unique laugh will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include daughter, Erin Lynn; son, Duane Beatty; granddaughter Shawna Beatty; sister, Connie Pfanstiel; niece, Roxane Schosker; nephew, Paul "Brusier" Pfanstiel; stepmother, Azalea Browning; stepbrother, Donald Tomlin; two great-nephews and one great-niece.
Pallbearers were Duane Beatty, Paul "Bru" Pfanstiel Jr., Kyle Pfanstiel, Paul Pfanstiel Sr., Stevie Sturdivant and Mark Beach.
Services were held Monday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Interment was at the Alexandria Cemetery.
Memorials can be given to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, KY 41056.
