Earl was the youngest, at 3-months-old, the day neighbor & brother-in-law C. C. "Lum" Winters rescued Earl, along with his mother & two older siblings, Dennis & Alfred "Buddy", on another neighbor's horse, Jargo. Earl almost drowned, but recovered.
