Obituary:
Rebecca Art Vinsonhaler was born March 27th, 1827, died September 2, 1912, aged 83 years, 6 months and 6 days.
Deceased was born in Hillsboro, Ohio. At the age of 20 she was married to Joseph Vinsonhaler--six children being born to this union--four dead, two living, S. J. Vinsonhaler of Bayfield, Colo., and Mrs. James Dickey of this city.

They came to the west in 1878 to live with a son at Mahaska, Kans. Last October at this son's death, they came to this city to live with a daughter, where they resided until the Master gave the summons and called her home. Four years ago, she had a stroke of paralysis, from which she never fully recovered, and one week before she died she suffered another stroke which resulted in her death.

She leaves an aged husband, 87 years old, and one son and one daughter to mourn her loss. One peculiar feature of this aged couple--they had spent 62 years of married life together in peace and harmony; never had been separated but 12 days in their lives. In her early girlhood she was converted and joined the Christian church and had truly lived her faith. She was a fond mother, a model wife and a devout Christian. To know her was to love her. She was so patient in her suffering, and was ready for her Master's call. Her favorite son was, "While the Years of Eternity Roll", which was sung at the funeral at her request. This same song was sung at the funerals of seven of her sisters who had preceded her to the great beyond.

The funeral was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Dickey, Rev. Clark officiating, taking his text from Job, 5th chapter, 26th verse, after which her body was laid to rest in the Elmdale cemetery.

The following two relevant items were also in the paper:

The family has the sympathy of the community in their loss.
A precious one from us is gone.
A voice we loved is still.
A place is vacant in our hearts
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His love has given,
And though the body moulders here
Her soul is safe in heaven.

Card of Thanks,
We wish to thank those who gave us their help and sympathy during the illness and after the death of our beloved wife and mother; also for the beautiful floral offerings. And especially do we wish to thank the faithful railroad boys that left their work to assist us.
