Obit For Dallas E. Allen, Sr.
Dallas Earl Allen, Sr., 71, of Keyesport, died April 8 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle with the Rev. Steven Krenz officiating. Interment was in McKendree Chapel cemetery in Keyesport. The United States Army Honor Guard performed graveside military honors.
Mr. Allen was born November 13, 1931 in Tamalco, the son of Earl R. and Lovenia Allen. He married Betty Wagner on Decembe 3, 1952 in Greenville and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. Tom (Vicki) Anderson of Hoffman and Mrs. Jim (Cindy) Neumann of Highland, two sisters, Luella Essington of Keyesport and Shirley Elling of Green Valley; brother Paul Allen of Huey; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dallas Allen, Jr.
Mr. Allen was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was a farmer, drove a milk truck and operated B.A.D. Trucking. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 404.
