Kenesaw resident, Melvin Donnell Ramsey, 78 passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Bryan LGH West Hospital, Lincoln, NE. Melvin Donnell was born June 20, 1931 to Virgil and Esther (Young) Ramsey in Heartwell, NE.

He graduated from Shelton High School in Shelton, NE. He married Barbara Jean Sheen on December 2, 1951 at the First Christian Church in Kearney, NE. He enlisted and served in the United States Navy on February 11, 1952 and was stationed in San Diego, CA. He was discharged on February 10, 1956, his rank was D.T. 3rd class. After his return he farmed the rest of his life.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Jean of Kenesaw, NE, daughter, Michelle Blessin and husband Russ of Greenwood, NE, and son Myles Ramsey and wife Mary of Kenesaw, NE, grandchildren, Tyler, Andy, Melissa, Jenae and Teryn and great grandchild, Trinity, and sisters, Betty Godfrey of Seattle, WA, Nedra Blue of Grand Island, NE and Lila Colvin and husband Lance of Kirkland, WA.
