Although Flora's death certificate does show that her mother was Catherine Willard, that is not correct. Her mother was Catherine Baughman. Several years after Flora's father was killed during the Civil War (in 1864), her mother married Samuel Strickler (in 1868). Catherine's widow's Civil War widow's pension records and marriage records confirm her maiden name. Matthew Morrison was my great great grandmother's brother.
