E.G.FRENCH DIES; RITES WEDNESDAY -

Ernest Golden French, 2608 Moultrie Avenue, a 44-year-old taxicab driver, died about 8 o'clock Saturday evening in Memorial Hospital where he had been taken less than an hour earlier when he had become suddenly ill. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Schilling funeral home, with Rev. John Codd officiating. The body will then be taken to the French cemetery near Arthur where graveside services will be held.

Mr. French was born in Mattoon Nov. 22, 1900, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William French. He attended the Mattoon schools and spent his entire life in this city, except for a short period several years ago when he lived near Arthur. He married Hazel Rumley of Arthur April 26, 1928.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Nadine, 14, and a son, William, 11, both at home; his father, William French of this city, and his mother, Mrs. Hattie Heino of Orchards, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Lindsay Whitley of Mattoon; two half-brothers, Pvt. David Monroe French, stationed in England, and William French of this city, and a half-sister, Mrs. Kenneth Smith of Mattoon.
