Mrs. Drucie Harkness, 77 of Battle Creek, Michigan. Died yesterday in a local hospital following an illness of three weeks. She was born on Feb. 13,1886 in Luverne, AL. The daughter of John M. and Eudora M.(Bronson) McDougald. On Jan 25,1912, she was married to William H. Byrd, who died in April, 1924. On Aug. 30, 1926 she was married in Alabama to John H. Harknes and the couple moved to Battle Creek, Michigan the following year. Mr. Harkness died May 5, 1950. She is survived by her four childern by her first marriage, Willaim H. Byrd Jr., J.D. Byrd, Mrs. Del (Pat) Latta, Mrs Gerald (Alice)Peters, a daughter by her second marriage, Mrs Donald (Drucile) Thurston, a brother Jep McDougald of New Orleans, LA. 16 Grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Mrs Harkness was a member of the First Pilgrim Holiness Church and of the ladies Bible class and missionary circle of the church.
