White, 63, died at North Plains Hospital at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. He lived at 510 Sheridan in Fritch.
He came to Texas in 1926 from Shippensburg, Pa., where he taught school attending law school while teaching.
He passed the Texas bar in 1926, coming to Borger in the same year as an attorney. He served as a member of the Texas legislature in the 1930's.
White was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Borger. He also was first commander of the Hutchinson County American Legion Post 412.
White founded the American Legion post in Fritch and served there as service officer. He also was a member of the Knights of Pythias.
A veteran of World War II, White served in the Royal Canadian Flying Corps and later as an officer in the reserves.
White was active in civic and community affairs in both Borger and Fritch.
Surviving him are his wife Veda L.; son John T. White of Borger; daughters, Rosa Janet of Borger and Mrs. Ann Luginbyhl of Montgomery, Ala.; sister Margaret H. White of Havertown, Pennsylvania; two brothers E.T. White of North Miama [sic], Fla. and R.S. White of Amarillo; and five grandchildren.

Funeral service for John H. White, 63, are scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday form First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Roy Neal Byrd, pastor, will officiate.
Burial in Westlawn Memorial Park will be directed by Simpson Funeral Home.
The local attorney was a longtime Borger resident. He served in World War I, enlisting at the age of 15. White moved to Fritch a short time ago. He died in North Plains Hospital Wednesday.
Surviving are his wife, son, two daughters, a sister, two brothers, and five grandchildren.
Casketbearers are members of Fritch American Legion Post. Honorary bearers are member of Borger Bar Association.
