Mother of Seven Succumbs at Home of Son Near Forest Hill—Rites Sunday

Mrs. Amanda Melvina "Amandy" Mundy, 80, passed away at 3:30 PM, Friday, at the home of her son, Finley Mantooth, one and one quarter miles northeast of Forest Hill, IN.

She had been in declining health for two years and in bed the last three months.

Mrs. Mundy was born March 16th, 1861, in Cocke County, Tennessee, the daughter of Lawson and Mahalia (Montgomery) Mantooth.

She was married three times.

Her first marriage was to George W. Mantooth; second to Jasper Beeman, 11/29/1904, in Boone County, IN; and third to Winfield Mundy.

All have preceded her in death.

Three children have also preceded her in death: Lawrence, Mahala and Sylvia.

Surviving are seven children: James Stanford Mantooth of Decatur County, William Chamberlin Mantooth of Burney, Finley L. Mantooth at whose Home she passed away, Luther Mantooth of Pershing, George Washington Mantooth of Plainfield, Stephen Ernest Mantooth of Anderson, and Mrs. Rurie Leanna Leonard of Indianapolis.

Amanda was the last of a family of ten children.

Also surviving are 32 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Mundy was a member of the United Brethren Church in Boone County.

The funeral will be held at 2 PM, Sunday in the Forest Hill Church.

Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.

The Rev. Golden E. Northern will officiate, assisted by the Rev. A. C. E. Gillander.
