Anna Katherine Porter, 81, of Rittman went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 3, 1928 in Wayne, WV to Wallace and Ida (Pyles) Booth and lived in Rittman since 1945.
She was a custodian for Rittman Schools for 21 years and was a member of the Eastern Road Church of God.
Katherine enjoyed her family, grandchildren, reading, word puzzles, shopping and cooking.
Her husband, Glen W. Porter, died on March 7, 1982. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, twin great-granddaughters, a brother, Gene Booth, and sisters, Martha Booth and Mary Belle Hale.
Surviving are her children, Douglas Glen (Terri) Porter of Rittman, Mary (Bruce) Lovejoy of Chippewa Lake, Glenna Sue (Vernon) Sweigert of Cape Coral, FL, Darlene (Jim) Markley of Wadsworth, Elaine (John) Kennedy of Rittman, and Patty (Buzz) Mullins of Tioga, WV; 35 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, James Booth of Columbus and Walter Booth of Glenmont.
Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eastern Road Church of God, 2600 Eastern Rd., Rittman, with Rev. Michael Cornelius officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
