Marvin Jensen the five months old baby of Richard T and Henrietta Astle, passed away rather suddenly on Sunday evening. Doctor west attributes death to Tonsillitis. On Ghursday it was noticed that the baby did not nurse as much as usual but seemed as healthy as ever.
On Friday it nursed still less and on Saturday still less yet, although it seemed as lively and bright as its usual disposition was. fearing that something was wrong Richard called in aid and still the little one appeared well and slept Saturday night apparently in good health, until about one o'clock, about three o'clock it was quite fretful and from then on until that night about 11:20 p.m. it was very sick although during the afternoon it rallied considerably.
Dr West worked with it very faithfully but was unable to save it.
The babe was born on the 6th, of December 1908 and died May the 9th and was buried on the 11 1909.
The funeral services were held in the Afton Meeting-house, and there was a nice crowd present, and a sweet peaceful spirit prevailed. The Speakers were Thos. H. Wilde, Thos F. Burton, President Osmond and Bishop Low.
The sympathy of the INDEPENDENT and the community is with the parents. It will be remembered that for several weeks after the birth of the infant its life was despaired off, but it pulled through and was until its final sickness in the best of health.
