Alma O. 'Stumpy' Becker, 80, formerly of Mexico, PA, died Fri., March 12, 2010, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin. Born March 11, 1930, in Centre, to Brehman L. & S Elizabeth (Derickson) Sheerer. Her husband, Harry J. Becker Jr., died June 8, 1999. Survived by sons: Harry J. 'Tusser' Becker III & wife, Susan, and L. Robert Becker & wife, Kim, all Mifflintown; son-in-law, Charles Leiter, Port Royal; sisters, Alice Gilson & husband, Robert, Port Royal; Esther Dumm & husband, Gerald and Patricia A. Niemond & husband, Larry, all Lewistown and Shirley S. Lauver, Camp Hill; 5 grandchildren: Charles Leiter, Alicia Leiter, Steve Becker & wife, Melissa, Mariah Becker, and R.J. Becker, and a gr. granddaughter, Mallie Love. Predeceased by daughter, Pamela Leiter; grandson, Brent Leiter; a sister and 6 brothers. Alma graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1948. She sold and delivered bread for Manbeck's Bakery and was well known for baking cakes for all occasions. Member of Centre Lutheran Church and Mifflin Chapter No. 260, O.E.S. Guss Funeral Home, Mifflintown. Interment, Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.
