He was a native of Bell, Fla. He lived in Welaka for the past 23 years, coming from Jacksonville after his retirement from Southern Bakery. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Iris Martin of Welaka; stepson, Bud Stroud of Welaka; stepdaughters, Joyce Zierhart of Jacksonville and Peggy Weeks of New Port Ritchey; step granddaughter, Jamie Wartman of Palatka; sisters, Alice Toney of Sanford and Leona Fralick of Waycross, Ga.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service is 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Clayton Frank and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Everett Shafer officiating.
