Thomas was the son of Hugh and Lizzy Fash Brady.
He graduated from City College and NY Law School and was admitted to the New York State bar in 1907. He was married to Sarah "Sadie" M Flynn, (sister of Edward J Flynn who was Secretary of State of New York from 1929-1939 and Chairman of the Democratic Committee from1940 until 1943). In 1933 Thomas Brady was appointed to the bench by Mayor John P. O'Brien a Justice of the Court of Special Sessions in NYC. In 1950 he was elected to succeed the retiring Justice John E McGeehan and served on the New York State Supreme Court.
He resided in NYC and Croton Falls, NY
