DORINDA E. COUCH-HARGROVE was born on 27 June 1827 in Morgan County, Alabama.

Dorinda married James William Hargrove on 12 January 1853 in Hopkins County, Texas (Marriage Book Vol. 1, p. 106), and they had SIX children (that are known of): William Hargrove (1854-?), Belle Zoria Hargrove-Colson (1855-1934), Burnus Hargrove (1858-?), Ida Hargrove (1860-?), Zephaniah C. Hargrove (1865-?), and Dolphus Crawford Hargrove (1865-1946).

Dorinda passed away sometime after the 1880 Census (Cemetery Transcription has blank date of Death), and was buried next to her husband at the Enon Baptist Cemetery in Iola, Grimes County, Texas.
