August Meyer Dies At Age 92
Services Friday
August W. Meyer, 92, one of the first residents at Fair Oaks Nursing Wing of Utlaut Memorial Hospital, died there at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 27.
Services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Donnell Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Dallas Newby, with interment in German cemetery.
August William Meyer was born February 17, 1880 in Tamalco township, son of Henry and Louisa (Brauckmuller) Meyer and had followed the occupation of farming, retiring in 1960 when he moved into Greenville from the Hookdale community.
Mr. Meyer was married to Pauline Albers on March 9, 1921, who died February 2, 1953. He then married Mrs. Elizabeth Tibbs Harper on September 16, 1953, she preceding in death on January 14, 1969.
Survivors include a step-son Thomas Harper of Smithboro; step-daughter, Mrs. Glasgow (Elsie)Dugan, and Mrs. Esta (Berneice) McFarland, both of Mulberry Grove; five step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. One brother, Edward preceded him in death.
Mr. Meyer was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Hookdale.
Visitation is after 2 o'clock this afternoon at the funeral home.
