Peggy Elaine Ferguson Pierson was the daughter of "Maggie or Maw Maw" Margaret Jane Keenan Ferguson and Walter Atlas Ferguson, and she was born on May 24, 1938 in the section known as Steele Creek in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Peggy was the ten child out of eleven children, so she was second to the youngest child of Walter and Maggie. All the Ferguson children had at least one "E" namePeggy was married on December 23, 1960 at the Hopewell Presbyterian Church Manse, because this was the home church that they were members of at that time. The Ferguson family farm was on Hambright Road in Huntersville, North Carolina, and the acreage was around 43 acres. Yet it seemed like it was so much larger, because it was in the country in the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's. To the north the Lake Norman and Cowan's Ford Dam was started in 1959, and finished in 1963. That was the real start to major changes geographically at the Ferguson family farm, but the children like Peggy getting married on December 23, 1960 on a individual level also created change. As a newlywed couple Peggy and Joe had life adventures that took them far away around the world from the Ferguson family farm in Huntersville, North Carolina too.
